This is an interactive power point presentation about the parts of a story. It should be used for students to individually engage in the lesson on the computer. Ideally, you would use this for an 8th grade ELA classroom, but it could be used for students anywhere from grades 7-10. I like this interactive power point, because it allows for the students to gather and collect information, without them having to listen to me direct them how to navigate through this power point. I find that when I have to prompt them during a teacher led lesson or when they look information up in a dictionary, it can be seen as more of busy work than anything else. This is one way to incorporate some of the more "boring" lessons and can make them more interesting.

I struggled from time to time with some navigation issues as well as some other aspects. I found it was much easier to title the slides to assist in managing my navigation.

Student Viewing Sheet

This is my example of a student viewing sheet. Essentially, I would use this sheet for the students to define the key terms and concepts; as well as, ensure they are able to define the parts of a story.
